ST Grinders
Exclusive North American importer of Supertec (ST Taiwan) CNC grinding machines — a value-tier line from a Taiwanese builder founded in 1954, sold and supported from Franklin, Indiana.
Independence note. Grinding Advisor is not affiliated with ST Grinders. This page summarizes public information to help buyers evaluate the line. We introduce buyers to ST Grinders the same way we introduce them to any builder — when the application fits.
The company
ST Grinders (stgrinders.com) is based in Franklin, Indiana, and operates as a brand of HME Holdings Group LLC. The company describes itself as the exclusive North American importer and supplier of CNC grinding machines built by ST Taiwan — Supertec Machinery Inc. of Taichung, Taiwan — serving the United States, Canada, and Mexico with sales, engineering support, and parts. The industries it names: automotive, aerospace, medical, energy, and general manufacturing.
The group behind the brand is led by Tom Goin, a long-time machine-tool industry veteran whose background runs through Heartland Machine & Engineering, a full-service machine-tool distributor in the Midwest. ST Grinders exhibited at IMTS 2026 in Chicago alongside Palmary and Dawn Machinery.
The builder: Supertec Machinery
Supertec Machinery Inc. was founded in 1954 in Taichung, Taiwan, and reports more than 15,000 grinding machines sold worldwide. The company entered grinder design in the 1960s, built Taiwan's first CNC angular cylindrical grinding machine in 1995, and has operated from Taiwan's Central Taiwan Science Park since 2007. It describes itself as Taiwan's leading grinder manufacturer.

Where the line fits
ST Grinders positions as the value tier: near-premium precision claims at roughly 40–60% below Swiss and German pricing (industry estimates). The natural buyers: shops that need real grinding capability — automotive suppliers, bearing plants, job shops, aerospace and medical manufacturers — without the premium-brand budget. The honest evaluation path is the same as any builder: test cuts on your drawings, reference installations, and a hard look at the US service and parts operation.
